Privacy Policy

Effective May 30, 2026

1. Who We Are

The Living Omnis is a collaborative platform for co-creating a living scripture, owned and operated by The Living Omnis LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

For questions or requests, contact us at: help@thelivingomnis.com

2. Age Requirement

The Canonical Scriptures are publicly readable and open to visitors of all ages — no account or personal information is required to read the living text.

Active participation — creating an account, subscribing, contributing passages, voting, or using the AI Studio — is subject to age requirements:

  • United States: You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or participate in any active capacity on The Living Omnis.
  • All other countries: You must meet the minimum age required by the laws and regulations of your country of residence. Where no specific age is prescribed, the minimum is 18.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone who does not meet these requirements. If we become aware that we have collected data from such a person, we will delete it promptly. See our Terms of Service §2 for the full age policy.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the platform:

  • Email address — required to create an account. It is used for sign-in, account management, and transactional messages. No account or email is needed simply to read the scripture.
  • Member profile — all members are required to provide a full name, phone number, and mailing address (street, city, postal code, and country). This information is kept private, is never displayed publicly, and is used for account verification and platform integrity.
  • Age confirmation — before creating an account you confirm your country and that you meet its age requirement. This confirmation is stored in your browser; we do not collect your date of birth.
  • Contributions — the text, title, theme, and author name you submit. Your public author name may be a pseudonym; your real name from your member profile is never shown publicly.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe (cards and crypto). We never see or store your card or wallet details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
  • Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) retained for up to 90 days for security and performance purposes.
  • Local storage — we store a generation count in your browser's local storage to track free AI Studio usage. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To publish contributions you submit to the platform.
  • To process subscriptions via Stripe.
  • To send transactional emails (e.g. payment receipts and account notifications) to the email address on your account.
  • To maintain security and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with third parties except Stripe (for payment processing) and hosting infrastructure providers.

5. Legal Bases (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, we process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract — to create and manage your account and fulfil the membership you request; this covers the email address and member profile required of all members.
  • Legitimate interests — to operate and secure the platform.
  • Legal obligation — to retain payment records as required by financial regulations.

6. Data Retention

  • Contributions are retained indefinitely as part of the living scripture unless you request removal.
  • Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.
  • Payment records are retained as required by applicable financial regulations (typically 7 years).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to or restrict our processing of your data.
  • Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at help@thelivingomnis.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at help@thelivingomnis.com.

9. International Transfers

The Living Omnis operates globally. Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required (e.g. for EEA residents), we rely on standard contractual clauses or other appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

10. Cookies

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We use only essential browser local storage to support core platform functionality (e.g. tracking free Studio usage). No third-party analytics or advertising scripts are loaded.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
